This weeks show features some fresh talent, DJ Gobba and TimeSphere. After listening to this weeks mix a few times, I just knew we had to come up with a special title for it. The title, Liberta Mentis, is latin for freeing your mind, liberation of your mind. When you hear the mix you will see why we have gone with such a title, this week is all about liberation and freeing your mind. TimeSphere’s “The World and its Double” is a track I will not soon forget, it has some incredibly wise words about how we each see the world and how culture can inhibit us from seeing the world in different ways… anyways, before I go further down this rabbit hole… let’s get back to the music…

This weeks mix contains two incredible Progressive PsyTrance mixes from DJ Gobba and TimeSphere. Kicking off the show is Brioni Faith and her brand new single “Down For You”, which is aimed at liberating the power within females through sexuality and creativity… very fitting to this weeks theme of liberation. About the DJs:

DJ Gobba:

Rodrigo Gobbato known as DJ Gobba, from the capital of São Paulo, began his career as a DJ in 1998, and participating in the intern Fiellds Discos. From then on, he was improving in techniques of exclusive Vinyl mixes, playing the line Drum’n'Bass and will thus have a good knowledge and experience to compete in biggest DJ championships ever produced by the brand Numark equipment and one of the best magazines about DJs in Brazil, DJ Sound, in 2000.

In 2001, he was playing on Saturdays at the club Atlanta in Sao Caetano, and has performed in various clubs of São Paulo.

Since 2002, he entered into a phase of migration and improvement, considering other lines of sound.

Currently, he plays the line Progressive Trance, a slower component based and extremely lysergic 135 to 140 bpm. He has participated in the main radio programs, indoor projects, multicultural festivals and raves of the best centers of the underground scene in Sao Paulo and Minas Gerais.

In 2008 he was invited by Egnogra, creator of Shaman Films Rec underground record label in San Francisco – USA, to join the cast of artists, representing the same in Brazil.

In 2010, he became resident DJ in the best and most respected underground progressive trance project of Sao Paul, Totten, showing all his technical skill and charisma with the audience, playing alongside the world’s best in this segment, therefore chosen to represent and participate in the agency and event producer Totten Rec.

In 2011, along with one of the best web radio trance of Brazil in the segment with listeners around the world, PureDJ.fm, launched its program BassLine the first program focused on Progressive Trance style.

So with a solid career of 14 years and an extreme skill in DJing, his next step now is to create his own virtual record label and start a musical production

TimeSphere:

Playing together since 2008, NiGiRi & Bruna put their sets together using the Progressive PsyTrance and Prog dark lines, making the transition in between them most of the times. They are known for exploring the seriousness of nocturnal tones but have been influenced by a few progressive daytime tones as well.

After having performed at great festivals and parties such as Festival Mundo de Oz, Festival Equilibrio, Festival Kundalini Fullmoon, Festival Lua Nova, Festival Outro mundo,they have shared the stage and pick-ups with some PsyTrance celebrities as Sensient, Tetrameth, Etic, Disfunction, Perfect Stranger, Naked Tourist, Mental Broadcast, Twelve sessions, Absolum, Swarup, Abstract Sunrise, Strange Doctors, Freakulizer, Zartrox, OnionBrain, Fabio Leal, Pragmatix, amongst others.

They decided to devote themselves to study and produce their own music with the project TimeSphere which features well elaborated ambience, instrumentals, organic percussion joining in a fat and groovy bassline.
